Cars equipped with the S55 engine are exceptionally well-engineered from a cooling perspective. The design of the ducts, core, sturdy fans, and various other elements all contribute to the effectiveness of the cooling system. However, there are two crucial factors that cannot be overlooked—sufficient heat exchanger surface area and an adequate number of heat exchangers. Even in extreme road course conditions with high ambient temperatures, the S55 engine performs flawlessly, maintaining stable oil and water temperatures.
However, these engineering constraints have led to a significant vulnerability: the engine’s oil cooler is dangerously exposed. A direct impact on the oil cooler can result in catastrophic damage, causing the engine to lose all of its oil in seconds—an unfortunate fate that several owners have experienced firsthand. In response, Norcal Dynamics has developed a robust oil cooler guard specifically designed to protect the S55's oil cooler from large road debris and prevent much more expensive damage.
For optimal real-world protection, the S55 oil cooler guard is made from a thick stainless steel plate and attaches directly to the existing frame members, distributing the impact load across solid structural components. In line with BMW M’s meticulous airflow engineering, great care was taken to ensure that the opening in the oil cooler guard aligns with the shape and size of the original BMW oil cooler air outlet.

I love it. Big upgrade over the stock piece of junk for your M car that slides forward and aft when it easily breaks. Looks so much better than that cheap plastic and is built a lot more solid with its partial carbon fiber (CF) construction. The Alcantara is an upgraded look for an already sport/luxury interior. I am so thrilled I am doing the handbrake in CF / Alcantara, the shift knob & boot - CF / Alcantara, and lastly the steering wheel also in both.
Fit was perfect, goes great with my new diamond black tips and M Sport kit from Norcal. Easy to install and looks awesome.

Fitment was absolutely perfect and looked amazing on my car. However, the parking sensor bracket mounting tape came melted and completely unusable, I don’t believe this was a result of shipping as the provided tape for the rear bumper was fine only the front was problematic. In the end though however compared to other kits I’ve seen on other F30s this one is way above the rest in terms of fitment and quality especially for the price.

I got this not sure how it would fit but it’s as close as you can get without getting a spoiler custom fitted to your car. And with simple adhesive strips this spoiler has your BMW looking soooo much better with a simple touch. I love it!
